MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT Add, subtract, multiply, divide- Compasses, protractors, and rules that slide. Five minutes to go on example tour. Shawt quiz-forty minutes-no more! Euclid may have found math divine- But he never thought of errors like mine! What'd he say? As we look back on our math courses and try to sum up all thot we have learned, we realize that it is one assignment that we shall never finish. SCIENCE DEPARTMENT Although space ships and inter-planetary travel are fascinating, one could not indulge in these vagaries without the basic prine ciples of science. In the past four years, many of us have been intrigued, and sometimes utterly confused, by the slow-moving amoeba, the intricate parts of the brain, the inverse relationships of temperature and pressure, the arrangement of electrons in an atom, and the complicated wiring of an oscillograph. As we go out into a world that is approaching a state of automation, the foundation laid by our capable science department will enable us to cope with this supersonic age. What could these boys possiby find so interesting-work? L. to R.: Richard Finn, Estelle Lippincott, Kenneth Hatllaw Mary Pitt, Everett Wordell. v n 1 97'

How ignorant we felt when a tiveweek vocabulary test came along' But remember how elated we felt when we finally wrote a successful composition and all the fun we had acting out Macbeth? Yes English had its brighter moments along wnth its trials and looking back on It we realize that at has added to our appreciation of literature at the same time teaching us clarity of expression So that s what happened' LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT ll the French spoke Englush and the Spanlsh spoke English and the Romans had spoken English our linguistic troubles would be less com plncated The fact is however that the native language of the French Spanish and Romans is here to stay u wait a munute is rt really so catastrophic? Consider the value of being able to converse with a Spanish senorita of being able to order an edible meal from a French menu or of being able to say confidently at an appropriate moment Dum vlvimus vivamus' l lve nt up' D For these and for many more seruous reasons and for the toy of accomplishment Itself studying irregular verbs learmng declen sions taking dlctees and belng taught all the other technlcalltres attendant upon learmng another language are certainly worth the while
