MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT Add, subtract, multiply, divide- Compasses, protractors, and rules that slide. Five minutes to go on example tour. Shawt quiz-forty minutes-no more! Euclid may have found math divine- But he never thought of errors like mine! What'd he say? As we look back on our math courses and try to sum up all thot we have learned, we realize that it is one assignment that we shall never finish. SCIENCE DEPARTMENT Although space ships and inter-planetary travel are fascinating, one could not indulge in these vagaries without the basic prine ciples of science. In the past four years, many of us have been intrigued, and sometimes utterly confused, by the slow-moving amoeba, the intricate parts of the brain, the inverse relationships of temperature and pressure, the arrangement of electrons in an atom, and the complicated wiring of an oscillograph. As we go out into a world that is approaching a state of automation, the foundation laid by our capable science department will enable us to cope with this supersonic age. . the hour draws near. It is hard for me and for the faculty to realize that graduation from Stratford High School for the Class of T956 is iust around the corner. Soon you will have a well-deserved di- ploma in your hand, that diploma which four years ago seemed so far away. Some of your classmates with you in the fall of T954 have left school to go to work just because they couldn't wait for the hands of the clock to reach l956. l am sure none of you who have remained with your classmates will regret a single minute spent at S.H.S. The time spent here will pay good dividends, and your life, as a consequence, will be a much fuller and richer one. It is my sincere regret not to have known all of you personally. This year I had intended to visit for ci few moments with each senior before graduation, but each year the princi- pal's program has grown fuller, until now, planning for the future with half sessions and a building program to get the school off half sessions occupies every spare moment. Never- theless, my thoughts have been constantly con- cerned with how we as a faculty can best meet your individual needs. I hope we have not failed to give you experiences which will prepare you for a life after graduation. Time marches on! May you all have happy and successful sailing in the sea of life after June T2, 'l956. ELDEN H. DUSTIN, VICE-PRINCIPAL DONALD W.
