F CLASS HISTORY We the SENIOR CLASS of 1953 started out twelve years ago, or rather in 1941 on the race for education We've finished twelve years of this race with three of us having come all the way together, the rest having dropped in at opportu e times to add their talents to our class Jackie Corley is the first we shall mention as coming all the way together, Jackie has played in the band all four years of high school the basketball team a d had a part in the senior play She plays forward on We are happy te claim Jackie as a classmate of ours Sue Mmude also came all the way Sue had a nart in the senior play and is always willing to help out with everything Phrguerite Watts decided she wanted to rum the race with ue Phrguerite has had very good parts in the junior and senior plays She has played four years in the band and to put it plainly, we couldn't do without her Jesse Ray Spurlook joined ue in the first, stayed twe years, left and came back in the ninth He has been a loyal and active member ever since Jackie Lou Ashley came to us in the se ond and has gone all the way, except one year in Texas Jackie Lou liked Oklahoma better She has lettered in basketball all four years of hlgb school as a guard and has a very high scholastic standing, Jo Ann Willlams became a member of our class in the third grade Jo Ann class reporter and had parts in the Junior and senlor plays Dixie Dean Sumner came in the eighth grade Looks like Paoli didn't like us they punished us Dixie, better known as nCarrot-topn, is a good boy even if he red headed im He should be proud of this name After all, a sportswrlter gave it Joyce Jones came to us in the nlnth and has done very well She has lettered four years in basketball,Pad parts 1n the Junlor and sen or plavs and the F F A boys chose her as their Queen this year During our freshman year Prarie Grove presented us with Eva Betts She is treasurer of our class, had a part in the sen4or play and was our class queen this year HAIL QUEEN EVA! Tommy Weast, better known as nMule Trainn, is one of our outstanding boys He has played basketball and baseball for us since he cane in the n1nth grade and we are very proud of him He also had a part in the Junior and senlor play Jimmy Dale Ingram came to us when w were freshmen He seems to be a quiet boy, but we don't believe he 1S as quiet as he pretends from wbatwa hear from Ada We are also p oud of John Ballard, our boy from the country He Joined us when we were fresh.en and we are expecting big things from hlm He has already shown us what he could do as 'Uncle' in the senlor play Jimmy Ballard, llke his nephew, Joined us in our freshman year He has come a long way and is now president of the senior class Of course we couldn't forget Patsy Sult Little Patsy has played a big part in our class since she became a member our fresh.en year Ne were honored to begin our race for high school educatlon wlth Elizabeth Summers She pla s 1n the band and had a part ln the junior play During the nlnth grade we received Robert Duke Robert plays basketball and had a part 1n the Junior and senlor plays One freshean addltion was Edward Lee, who came to us from Prarie Grove Edward has worked hard Play Our ju ior came to us from Du lng our at everythlng given h1m to do, lncluding h1s rart ln the junior year brought another addltion Jo ce Summers, a bright young lady, Corley She is the artlst and poet of ou, class Junior year, we had a very loud contribution to our class, Gary Little Gary used h s talents in the Junior and senior plays Our senlor year brought still more trouble We received Valton Potter, he's a good boy, but he res1des ln the Off1Ce more than in class Mahonia Jervis became a member of our class when we were senlors She was certainly a quite contrlbution, but also a good one She had a part 1n the senior play Our senlor year brought our last addition, Bettie Jo Kn ght She has been a good member and took part in the senior play With th1s we conclude We have enjoyed the twelve years in school, even if our teachers haven't Sue Fbrris Jackie Corley lhrguerite Watts , E 1+ 1 isn- . . . .
