Everyone thought that the Strat- ford Academy basketball team would dominate competition in their first year in the SEAIS. And this was true to a very large extent. The team start- ed off the season as if they were not to be outdone by the high-soaring Eagle football team by winning easily in their first three encounters. In the fourth game of the season the Eagles ran headlong into a good Flint River ball club and came home with their first defeat of the season, 66-63.
