C ASS HISTORY The Class of S4 began 1ts struggle for educatnon Sept 7 1942 ANN HARVEYS mother had to carry her out to the school bus the fxrst day of school she d1dn t want to rnde wrth all those college klds MARY VIICHL was found walkmg down the school drlveway She was gomg home Our fxrst bxg adventure was vaccmatlon NANCY LEAS and JOANN POST cned all day So the teacher let them sxt on her lap whnle she read the class a story As we approached the 2nd grade we fmd MARY MICHL and Joyce Brxdges swoonmg over BOB AGEE s Marme suxt We see FRED LONG and RAY BELLINGER rubbmg thelr eyes llke mad The teachers verdxct was Pmk Eye Oh yes there they were rn the sxck room playmg marbles what a racket SUSAN GLEGHORN was the leadmg dalsy m the 3rd grade operetta She was m second grade at the txme but b1g for her age PHILLIP CARTONE and DUANE WOOD got spanked for pushmg the gxrls down on the ramp by the maypoles BOB SHUSTER and DON SAMPSON forced JACK KLINE to smoke hrs fxrst cxgarette m 4th grade Smce the effects have stunted hrs growth he ns planmng to become a jockey ELVIN LICHTY and DON JACKSON put sap from the trees on the playground on ROBERTA MARKLE S new coat In Sth grade a weddmg was actually performed CAROLINE BLACKWELDER to BILL ZIMNIER MAN ROBERTA MARKLE to ELVIN LICI-ITY and Delorns Smxth to Bruce Krupp The refreshments afterward were cake and mllk All th1s happened ln the back of the playground ROBERTA wrote out the certlflcates The happy weddmg party ended up m the offlce Bag 6th graders' Tough Kxds' ART NIGI-IMAN got knocked out 3 times playmg sockerball BEV ERLY WILLOUGHBY got a black eye play1ng Red Rover Remember the great neck1ng partnes m those famous noon mov1es7 JOE CAHILL sand who ever got to the movmes fnrst NORRIE CORK or ELVA PLATT could snt wnth hum Oh those rough races By 7th grade we were m the hlgh school bunldmg We felt real blg next to the 6th graders but out of place m the hugh school At noon m Mrs Morgan s room you would fmd DENNIS EVERETT at the pxano and the rest of us dancmg On the colder days we dressed up the bust of Lmcoln with a coat hat scarf, and a cxgarette m hrs mouth In Sth grade someone hung CHARLES BOER NER out Mrs Smxth s wmdow She bawled h1m out for dlsruptmg class Dunng a 7th and 8t1 grade basketball game RAY BELLINGER made a basket for the vnsmng team Our Freshmen year someone hld Mnss Dembrock s grade book m the bottom drawer of her desk She dxdnt fmd lt for two davs PAT BEE matched penmes wxth two boys and when they were told not to match penmes they used mckles As Sophomores ART NIGHMAN and JIM BAUER fought over JEAN ARNOLD Art won We fmd DON JACKSON with HAROLD CAR PENTERS car m MARY MICHLS drnveway on Mary s bxrthday Gabby lnttle PAULA BERTKA and IANIE WEBB wlth her bullet bag over her shoulder and famous walk came our Jumor year EARL WITSA MAN gave CAROLYN WILLISFORD two garter snakes xn a paper bag and sa1d lt was tax stamps He had to do some fast talkmg to keep from belng expelled In our Senlor year the Stow Band won the fxrst :l1v1s1on Band Contest at Copley and received a trophy Other events were when BOB AGEE was forced to knss the Homecommg Queen Mona Lotts seven t1mes Mnss Workman threw a book at ELVA PLATT Shes the luckv semor thls year It was awful the wav RICHARD REINHART smoked black clgars at LICHTY S CASINO DON JACKSON lost has watch while swnmmmg ashore after the rowboat that he MAX LOVIN GOOD and BOB CONLEY stole sunk ln the mnddle of Lake Forest Now we can tell Mr Barr that Donald MacDonalds mother doesnt actually wrlte backhand EVELYN FULST played hookev Dec 22 1953 NANCY LEAS NORRIE CORK and BARBARA BANKES returned from a walk on New Year s Eve wnth an old dxscarded Chrnstmas tree and felt very bad when CAROLINE BLACKWELDER made them return It to the garbage can they took xt from BERNIE CHABOUDY had to qunt drmk mg so he can pav for hrs false teeth The Class of S4 offers thenr smcere thanks to any open mmded mdxvndual who could read thxs and accidentally enjoy lt , . . n . , . .
