SENIOR TRIP On the evening of May 2, the senior class and sponsors left for five fun-filled days in Florida and Louisiana. We enjoyed a day and a half at beautiful Pensacola Beach, and the next day traveled on to New Orleans. We toured the city, the French Quarters, and other points of interest in Louisiana. On our way back to Missouri, we visited the Rosedown Plantation, the State Capital of Louisiana and we had a boat ride on Lake Taneycomo. We arrived at Stover with many wonderful memories and exciting tales to tell. We would like to thank everyone who helped make this trip possible. PROM On May 11, 1973, the Junior Class held our banquet and prom in honor of the Senior Class. The theme was Misty Memories and music was furnished by Stone Canyon. Blue star streamers decorated the walls and ceiling of the gymnasium. The grand entrance was made over a grass-covered bridge into a misty land of memories. White wrought iron chairs and a flower-covered steaming pool were centered in the middle of the dance floor. Above the poo! was a rotating ball mak- ing majestic colored reflections. An old-fashioned turning water wheel gave an atmosphere of serenity to this momentous occasion. ACTIVITIES BOYS’ GLEE CLUB Row 1: Mrs. Doris Stevens, sponsor; S. Wallace; D. Derks; P. Sparks; R. He was born January 7,1958, had lived in Stover several years, and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Stephen was a member of the Freshman class of Stover Schools, active in sports until his illness, and was an excellent academic student. He will be remembered for his pleasant personality and interest in other peo- ple. COURAGE Courage is bravery. It is a big strong man who cannot be shaken. Courage is never having to worry. Courage is a strong mind. Courage is never being a coward. Courage is being number one. It is always being first in experiments and battles. Courage is like having a stone house on a large hill. Courage is having a protective mountain but not needing it. Courage is a bold color. It stands out on the darkest day and shines in the night. Courage is being able to stand up when you know you're right. Courage is bravery when it goes along with common sense. Courage is never being afraid. This poem was written by Stephen Heimsoth when he was in eighth grade reading class. H tjj L-gfl j I T tjrr i: br U Rebecca Sue Nolting, a member of the Eighth Grade Class of Stover Schools died after surgery on December 15, 1972. Becky, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nolting, was born on October 15,1958, and was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church. Becky was an outstanding academic student, a Junior High Cheerleader, and manager of the Junior High volleyball team. Students and faculty will long remember the enthusiasm and school spirit which she exhibited. LOVE Love is walking in the rain. Love is sitting in the sunshine. Love is helping the old and sick. Love is feeling deeply for a special person. Love is a tingling feeling inside you. Love is a feeling of joy in your heart. This poem was written by Becky while she was in the seventh grade. .Jx % TAMMY WEHMEYER Tammy Sue Wehmeyer, a first grader in Morgan County R-l schools, died on December 20, 1972 after sustaining critical injuries when struck by an automobile., Tammy, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Wehmeyer was born June 7,1966, and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
