I, Continued 61 Prophecy We, the Junior class of 1969, were very anxious to see what the Seniors of 1969 would be doing in the year 1979, so we gazed into our crystal ball. The crystal ball becomes light and we see the Cree-Mee but look is it the Cree-Mee? Bright, flashing neon lights shine upon the figure, it is Rita's Hop-In owned by our own RITA EHLERS. WTio is this we see ? Why it is TERESA EHLERS and LINDA LUTJEN, the two bunny waitresses, hopping over to the kitchen to get their orders from the two main chefs, HARVEY PENDLETON and EDGAR DOUGLAS. Striking up on the bongos who do we see but SAM BYLER and the Shams including, JIM KAUFMAN, DENNY DORITY, and PAUL ALPERS. Now as the crystal ball takes us on Education Avenue, we approach the Stover University where Professor RICHARD MUELLER is filling in for Mrs. Evelyn Alpers as bookkeeping teacher because she has sustained an in- fected bruise from a previous trip. Also we meet there LENORA MONSEES who is the History Professor and one of the top instructors of this art. Next door we find TOM CAPPS, the conservation teacher, who is discussing the daily lesson with his pupils. In the Art and Sculpture Institute BONNIE MYERS and her assistant, JOSIE WOOLERY are teaching their industrious students. As we pass the library we hear a loud lecture by BRENDA BRUNJES who is the librarian. Her lecture is on the chances students take in losing, destroying or having over- due books. As we leave the University the crystal ball picks up the sounds of shouting voices and heavy marching in the background. It is a student riot protesting the student government led by JANET SMITH. But they won't get far, for who do we see coming, but Chief of Police DARRELL VANSELL and his police force including, DEAN SIL- VEY, PHILLIP STEINMEYER, LEROY McCOLLUM, and CLAUD McCOLLUM. That riot will soon be under control with this law-abiding staff of men close behind. The crystal ball moves on and takes us to the main section of town. Here we find VICKI KRULL and her staff consisting of RONNIE BOESCHEN as her private secretary and JUDY OEHRKE and LYNDA MUNSTERMAN as head reporters busily preparing the morning edition of the Stover Morning Gazette. A sudden flash brings into view the headlines of the morning gazette. They read: Mrs. America Pageant of 1979 was held in Miami Beach, Florida Auditorium where MRS. DEBORAH MYERS was chosen to reign as the Queen for the coming year. Also we find in the news that one of our local musicians LINDA COOPER has been the first American to be chosen to receive the Nobel Prize for Music. This attributed to her fine singing voice and instrumental ability. Also appearing daily in the paper is one of the most widely read columns of the country, MISS LANA SELF'S Etiquette Column. Our crystal ball flashes on to the DX Station now owned by ROBERT KOESTER, as we see the world's famous tire tester, LINDA W AHLERS who is being driven off to the Stevens General Hospital by the Vought Ambulance, driven by LINDA VOUGHT. We follow the ambulance to the hospital to find out the reason why Miss Wahlers was rushed there. We learn from the head nurse, CINDY STEVENS, and owner of the hospital that Miss Wahlers has sustained a severe fatigued foot. (Could the reason be that she has been kicking to many tires? It seems that 1500 tire tests may be a bit to many in one day, but Linda will soon be back to the station to help Robert again.) What is this we see coming down the hall? Why it is MRS. JANE VIEBROCK who has just become the mother of bouncing twin boys and has received the award for Mother of the Year since this is the third set of twins for the proud mother. As we leave the hospital we hear over the intercom, a flash bulletin. It reads that Doctor ROY EHLERS has just isolated the cure for the common cold. Going on, the crystal ball now sees a sign which says Jim Campbell's Motorcycle Sales, owned by JIM CAMPBELL which was previously Abbotts Garage. As our drystal ball passes over the town it rests upon the scene of the S.B.B.B.S. which is the Stover Bull- dogs Baseball Stadium where we see KAREN MEYER as the ticket-taker, suddenly we hear the familiar voice of our own JIM LUCAS as the Sports Commentator who is telling us that the pitcher of the Bulldogs, RONALD WORTHLEY is trying for his 13th consecutive no-hitter game. Not staying there long the crystal ball brings into focus the Stover Auditorium, formerly the Stover Osage Theater. Inside where the BILL GEARY Show is now going on the air, we hear Bill Geary announcing that among the celebrities in the audience is MISS DORA GRAF the famous German actress. Next he announces the Continued 62 death-defying act of DUANE MASSINGILL and his trained bear. After that we hear the comical imitations of famous people by BRENDA JACKSON. Next we have a weight-lifting act by the Muscle Man JIM MARRIOTT and his assistant PATTIE CONNER. And now Mr. Geary introduces his last act of the evening, which is MIKE MELLER assisted by LINDA CAPPS and his Childlike Racoons doing various amusing acts. As the show goes off the air we see that the show was produced by Werner Brothers Incorporated, with the owner being BEN WERNER. The crystal ball is slowly fading away, but there is still a dim view in which we see the class sponsors. MR. MIKE KAMMEIER is now driving a 1979 Cadillac, and we see him driving by the Stevens Mansion, where the crystal ball takes us on a tour of the Mansion, which is owned by MRS. DORIS STEVENS. Senior Wills Concluded LYNDA SUE MUNSTERMAN, being of unsound mind and body, do hereby will to Barbara Richardson my quiet- ness during class. With a little luck teachers will never catch you. I, BONNIE SUE MYERS, being of not so sound mind and rather sick body, will to Sue Sizer my ability to attend school every day of the year. I, DEBORAH GAIL WALKER MYERS, being of slightly insane mind and beautiful body, do hereby will my great ability to missing school to Pat Holland. I, JUDY KAY OEHRKE, being of weak mind and uncoordinated body, do hereby will my great typing ability to type for the teachers to Cindy Bretall. Use it well. I, HARVEY OSCAR PENDLETON, being of sound mind and body do hereby will my ability to argue to Linda Hodges. Use it well it will get you in trouble. I, LANA JANICE SELF, being of firm, flexed, and fattened body, do hereby will to Val Weber my latest formula for gaining weight. It worked too well for me. I, LOUIS DEAN SILVEY being of broken body and crippled mind, leave my perfect driving record to Vicky Conner. May she rest in peace. I, JANET SUE SMITH, will to Marsha Burke my ability to out talk anyone in school. Good luck, if you need it. I, (FLOP) PHILLIP NORMAN STEINMEYER, being of weak mind and crippled body will my ingrown toe nail to Vicky Conner and Jo Ann Webb. Have Fun. I, CINDY LOU STEVENS, being of sound mind and body, do hereby will to Miss Lila Cooper my outstanding pitching ability. Whether this be softball or vocal, she can use either one. I, WAYNETTE MILLER VIEBROCK, being of happy mind and chubby body, will my ability to simultane- ously wash dishes, peel potatoes, and bake cookies while doing Secretarial Practice, to Rose Hendrix. You'll find it's a lot of work, but a lot of happiness too! I, DARRELL EDGAR VANSELL, being of crippled body and stolen mind, hereby will the saying TTiat-a-boy Luther to Donald Warnke. I, LINDA MAY VOUGHT, being of terrible unsound mind and partially sound body do hereby will to Donald Wayne Warnke my ability to be an un- successful in everything I attempt to do. May you use it wisely, and often. I, LINDA JOYCE WAHLERS, the quiet, shy moody, and stupid person that I am, have decided to will to that great dancer--ha, ha, Carroll Schlo- mer my ability to play basketball on donkeys. I, BEN FREDERICK WERNER, will my secret trade to Lyle White. I, JOSIE MARIE WOOLERY, will my ability to keep my hair well trimmed to Flossie Meeks. I, RONALD GENE WORTHLEY, being of strained mind, will all my math ability to Dan Dierks. 63 Scholarships UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI CURATORS AWARD Roy Ehlers Linda Capps Lenora Monsees Linda Cooper CENTRAL MISSOURI STATE COLLEGE REGENTS SCHOLARSHIPS Roy Ehlers Lenora Monsees Cindy Stevens Linda Capps Linda Cooper Rita Ehlere MFA SCHOLARSHIP James Marriott Alternate: Lenora Monsees WHO'S WHO IN AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOLS AWARD Cindy Stevens James Marriott OUTSTANDING TEENAGERS OF AMERICA Cindy Stevens Sam Byler SCHOLARSHIP MEDALS Valedictorian Salutatorian Senior Junior Sophomore Freshman Roy Ehlers Lenora Monsees Lenora Monsees Sheryl Fischer Deborah Kerksiek Lanny Geary ALL SCHOOL MEDALS Citizenship Activities DEPARTMENTAL AWARDS Tommy Capps Cindy Stevens Girl Athlete Boy Athlete Typewriting Bookkeeping Commercial Subjects Dramatics Art Library Music Vocational Homemaking Mathematics Science Social Studies Industrial Arts English Creative Writing Lila Cooper Ronald Worthley Sheryl Fischer Lenora Monsees Judy Oehrke Cindy Stevens Edgar Douglas Patty Barbour Cindy Stevens Lana Self Karen Case Lenora Monsees Sheryl Fischer James Marriott Linda Capps Roy Ehlers MUSIC DEPARTMENT Majorette Award—JoAnn Webb Instrumental Award--Linda Cooper LETTER AND LYRE: Dean Silvey, Ben Werner, Rita Ehlers, Treva Meller, Linda Jason, Robert Koester, Ed Spalding, Paul Meyer, Teresa Ehlers, Mary Reusch, Ruth Monsees, Claud McCollom, Darrell Vansell, Dennis Sousley, Linda Capps, Lanny Geary, Butch Nolting, Jim Rath, Donald Warnke, Jim Kaufman, Maureen Baugh- man, Denise Huffman, Ruth Ann Rasa.
