The evening of April 18, the senior class and sponsors left for a very interesting, fun-filled trip to Washington, D. C. We traveled through many miles of beautiful scenery and visited many impressive buildings. Our nation's capital is now much more real to us for we have seen it. It is no longer just pictures and stories. It was a wonderful trip which we will never forget and we thank everyone who made it possible. 16 UNDERCLA SSMEN JUNIORS Class Officers; President: Doug Kroeschen, Vice President: Violet Kerksiek, Secretary: Mae Allee, Treas- urer: Ruth Roland, Girl's Rep. : Carolyn Stucker, Boy's Rep.: John Taylor, Reporter: Carla Garmon. He had become lost in space and landed on our planet. He said his machine could break through the time barrier. We said, Gosh, do you think we could look in on the Seniors of '67 and see what they will be doing in 1977? He said we could, so we all piled in. First we saw in the dark, isolated hills of Africa, LARRY VAN SELL, the great white hunter, leading a Safari in chase of an albino orangutan. From this point we see LINDA WHITESELL, as the wife of an admiral, living in a bungalow by the sea. Next door we spotted NORMA VOUGHT who was operating a filling station. From here we travel to England, upon visiting the Queen we discover KATHY MARRIOTT as the Queen's personal hair- dresser. Kathy tells us that KAREN GEAR has just been awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and is visiting the queen. As we return to the U. S. A. , we fly beside a plane and who should be the stewardess? It is DONNA WEBB! Listening in on her conversation, we hear her telling other stewardesses about MARY MONSEES, who has been acclaimed as the top mathematician of the U. S. We continue following Karen, and when she reaches the U. S. she enters a taxi. She hears over the radio the famous announcer, WALTER WORTHLEY. He tells of the great success ERNEST SUTTON is having managing the Mets with his star pitcher RUSS BARBOUR. He also tells of LARRY FRANKS' victory in setting the world's track record in the 100 yard dash. Flash! We hear JIM SWARTZ, the top basketball star of the year, has just broken his collar bone. When we found they had rushed him to the JOYCE REUSCH Hospital, we zipped over there, and learned that DORIS CASE was the head nurse. While Jim was in the hospital, he heard that the former MARILYN CROCKER is now the proud mother of sextuplets. We travel to Washington D. C. , and at the First National Bank, what do we see but ANN TAYLOR counting her money that she earns as personal financial advisor to the president. On a tour of the White House we see our first lady president, DEBBIE SELF, out on the lawn having a tea for the turkey producers and among the best is BOB ZURMILLER. From here the turkey producers go on a night club tour. One stop is the Playboy Club, and at the far right we see none other than JOYCE TIETJEN, alias Greta a Go-Go, the head entertainer. Also at the club, is the famous Twaggy , our own PAM PALMER. She is the U. S. answer to Britain's famous model, Twiggy . We now go to the sports arena where the 1977 Girls' Olympics are held, and see ANN FISCHER com- peting for the title of World Champion Girl Athlete, surprise—she won the title! Suddenly, over the micro- phone comes the voice of the world famous detective, SHARON KURTZ. Now we see BOB VIEBROCK on his way to the Stock Car Races, behind him is his famous'67 Chevy. He stops for gas at the nearest D. X. Station, owned by none other than NELSON EIGHMY. After leaving the station we pass through our old home town of Stover, Mo. Here we see DON SHACKELFORD still sitting in class trying to figure out Mr. Bush's Trig problems. We decide to make a detour in a small town nearby, we find a farm where the owner of Wilson's Fabulous Feed for Fat Hogs, lives. The owner—EARL WILSON. We find him sitting behind his desk dictating a letter to his secretary, CONNIE CARVER—the world's fastest typist. Continuing on west we find HOWARD HENDRIX as foreman of the world's leading wheat producing company. We see a delivery truck, the name—STEVE ROWLAND, owner and manager of all IGA stores in the U. S. and Canada. Next stop the University of Colorado where we visit with the President of the College of Arts Sciences, LARRY WITTE. Larry tells us that if we get to Las Vegas we should stop in to see LONNIE MARRIOTT, the owner of Playboy magazine. We take this trip and see Lonnie, and he tells us that JIM CAPPS is the art editor. As we watch Jim work, in walks DANNY PRYOR, the assistant editor. Jim has an application for a new model—RUTH STANLEY—good luck, Ruth. As we travel on to California we see EUGENE SCHLOMER riding his Yamaha across a tight rope. Here we also see VALERIE CAPPS as a fortune teller. Then to Disneyland where our tour guide is DEBORAH RIGGS, she inquires about everyone in her graduating class from dear old Stover High. We sit down and begin to tell her the story we've just told you! 60 SENIOR CLASS OF 1967 a CLASS MOTTO: The door to success is quick to open, for those who try it. CLASS FLOWER: White Carnation, tinted blue. CLASS COLORS: Blue and White. In memory of Samuel Wayne Pete Carver, Florence, Missouri, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Carver.
