WHEN THE CHEERING STOPS Now here is a Yearbook which is pictures for the most and apparent part. You can assume an air of nostalgia before finishing your perusal of it. Or you can raise a cynical eyebrow or two, muttering, Man can live without love but not without water, mystifying your peers with your acid sarcasm, callousness, et al. No matter, really, which view you take of our view of the view: Stoughton High is as firmly established (etc.) as Plimoth Plantation. And unless you feign amnesia from the age of nineteen onward, and convince yourself that you ' ve had amnesia from the age of nineteen onward, you ' ll remember your alma mater till, say, senility— and then some. The choice still remains: what to do with the memories. Personally, I just may save a few unused photos, paste them on my wall or hide them under my pillow for a rainy day. They make excellent bookmarks as well; especially if you tend to lose your sense of place. Your Yearbook should not lie about, gathering dust year after year, until your future offspring find it. Yearbooks are fine places to press flowers and save four leaf clovers, for doodling in the margins; use it to bring you to the proper height for most efficient use of your typewriter. By definition. Our Yearbook is relevant, whether or not you believe your education within Stotonian borders will have any bearing on your life. Four years of your youth were spent here. What did you buy with them?
