TO THE CLASS OF 1972: Congratulations upon the successful completion of your high school education. You are aware of the new courses which were added to the program of studies. Some courses were dropped and others modified. In short, the educational offerings were in a constant state of change. With the rapidly changing technology, changes are necessary. The change process will continue. It will require the co- operative efforts of administrators, teachers, and stu- dents to make the school program relevant and inter- esting. There are many new approaches which are being tried. Some of the new techniques soon to become widespread include bi-lingual offerings, team ap- proaches to counseling, individualized programs, inde- pendent study, drug counseling programs, career ex- plorations, vocational training programs, mini-courses, and citizenship training programs. These offerings will require a more liberal approach to the scheduling process. Students will be expected to assume more responsibility and work more coopera- tively with the staff to develop meaningful programs during these times of constant change. You can readily see that your educational ex- periences in high school were different from those of your predecessors and will also be different from those who follow you. We hope that we have helped to pre- pare you to meet the challenges of your generation. Dr. Peter J. Sperandio Principal HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION 1. DR. PETER J. SPERANDIO, Principal 2. MR. ARTHUR L. PENARDI, Assistant Principal 3. MR. ROBERT J McLAUGHLIN, Administrative Assistant 4. MR. THOMAS McDERMOTT. Director of Library Services

STOUGHTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE: Seated, Dr. Recupero, Mrs. Blomstrom; Standing: Mr. Gibbons, Mr. Rist, Dr. Harrington, Mr. Hill. TO THE CLASS OF 1972: The members of the Stoughton School Committee and I wish to ex- tend to each of you our most sin- cere congratulations. This past year has been one in which many of us have had new experiences and freedoms which in the past were traditionally rejected. It was a year in which we learned that by communicating with our fel- low-man, we may see a clearing through the muddle of confusion that existed in the late sixties. The age of the grey-flannel suit has finally passed on; the true spirit of man is emerging, and, best of all, is being recognized. Yours is an exciting future. I trust that you will work to its perfection, and by so doing, help us attain a world of true peace. The liberties you have been given must be guarded and protected with care and diligence. They must be respected and used with caution and intelligence. How great and exciting will be the days and years of the future. Nourish them! Now that the starter has fired his gun and we are off our marks, look back occasionally as each mile is passed and give thanks and praise, especially to your parents. Remember, each of us in the community will be watching and cheering your efforts. Above all, re- member that this race will not be won through the efforts of one man alone, but only with the cooperative efforts of all. Good luck! May the Lord bless you! Dr. Thomas E. Recupero Chairman, Stoughton School Committee 14
