SCHOOL COMMITTEE Seated: Mr. Rist, Mrs. Blomstrom, Mr. McGillicuddy. Standing: Mr. McKay, Mr. Hill, Dr. Recupero, Mr. Gibbons. To the Class Of 1971: As chairman of the school committee and an alumna of Stoughton High School, I am particularly proud to be able to extend the best wishes of the committee to each and every one of you. The citizens of this community have invested in a system of education that challenged your intellectual and physical needs. It is through education we learn to communicate and once able to communicate we can un- derstand the needs of each other. People are people the world over, basically created with the same desires and goals. They want the op- portunity to live and work and gain some measure of self esteem. The torch is passed to you the students of the 70 ' s to help make this a better world to live in through edu- cation. Those of you who will prepare to teach— yours will be the job of molding better citizens. Those of you enter- ing the armed forces— you will be given the opportunity of presenting yourself as an example of an American to peoples the world over. Those of you who will enter government service or politics— it will be up to you to initiate legislation that will insure equal education to all peoples.
