DEDICATION ARTHUR L. PENARDI Mr. Arthur L. Penardi is truly Mr. Stoughton High. A lifelong resident of Stoughton and a graduate of S.H.S. (He was on a football team that walloped Canton 34-0) he has served his alma mater l oyally. At Stoughton High, he has taught many subjects. He organized the physical education department as the first gym teacher, and was the first assistant principal in school history. The scope and variety of his duties over the years reflects the growth of the school in personnel, facilities, and curriculum. Mr. Penardi acquired his bachelor ' s and master ' s degrees at Boston University. His arrival at Stoughton High in 1948 followed a stint in the Navy. He has continued to serve his country, and has risen to the high rank of Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve. At Stoughton High, generations of students have come to know him for his fairness, equanimity under pressure, and his genial personality despite the fact that he is literally looking at the worst side of things day in and day out. If anyone is truly for the kids it is our assistant principal. The editorial board is proud to dedicate the 1968 edition of the Stotonian to Mr. Stoughton High - Mr. Arthur L. Penardi. 3
