ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL To the Class of 1964: Effective democracy can be achieved only when an intelligent and well-informed citizenry actively participates in governmental affairs, both at the national and local level. In the immediate future your generation will have to assume the burden of leadership and deci- sion. I am confident that you will accept this chal- lenge and carry on in the splendid tradition that has become known the world over as the Ameri- can Way of Life. I extend my best wishes to each of you for your future success and happiness. ARTHUR L. PENARDI DIRECTOR OF GUIDANCE Congratulations and sincere best wishes to the Class of 1964: A diploma from Stoughton High School is a mark of distinction. It testifies that you have per- formed certain required tasks in the form of ac- quiring skills, information, attitudes and apprecia- tions. The diploma, however, does not have the same significance to all graduates. To some, it is the passport which opens the door to immediate, desirable employment opportunities. To others it is the ticket of admission to a school or training program which will provide advanced education, commensurate with interests aptitudes and future plans. Whichever road you take, in meeting the chal- lenges of employment, education and citizenship, be mindful that your future success and happiness will depend largely upon your willingness to uti- lize the training acquired at Stoughton High School ALBERT C.
