Faculty and student body members of Stoughton High School were deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Peter R. Gerardi, one of their most respected teachers, on August 12, 1962. In remembrance of this courageous man, admired and loved by all, the senior class dedicates the 1963 Stotonian. Despite personal sacrifice, Mr. Gerardi faithfully served his students for eight years; and, as teacher-coach, he won the admiration of everyone by devoting his talents for their guidance and welfare. Mr. Gerardi has set a fine example for the students of Stoughton High School and his memory will continue to influence their lives. 3

Our life is like some vast lake that is slowly filling with the stream of our years. As the waters creep surely upward, the land- marks of the past are one by one submerged. But there shall always be memory to lift its head above the tide until the lake is over- flowing. Upon graduation our memories are of these landmarks, which are discovered all through our four years of high school. Now they will begin to submerge, and we will encounter more complex frontiers. It will be our responsibility, with the use of the skills we have learned at Stoughton High, to overcome any barriers that impede our pro- gress. In years to come, when our vast lake is overflowing with knowl- edge, we will turn to the pages of our Stotonian, and our high school memories will come floating to the surface.
