' J Dr. Appleton C. Woodward Our country has a big invest- ment in education. It has be- come almost an axiom that a free society cannot exist without an informed citizenry at all times. Informed not only in the eco- nomic and vocational areas but also io the moral and spiritual areas that are so necessary for the maintenance and growth of human freedom. In this modern age, no one ' s education can ever be considered complete. Recorded knowledge, upon which every day decisions must be based, will change too rapidly for this to be possible. Therefore, anyone who hopes to fulhll his responsibilities and per- form a useful role in the com- munity and society will system- atically continue his education either through organized types of personal or institutional channels or through thoughtful experience. Mr. Leonard Anderson The days ahead are sobering and challenging and will demand the utmost of all of us. Committee Mr. David M. Benjamin Mr. Edmund Daly 6
