There will be no school in the Storm Lake Public Schools today. These cherished words from Super- intendent of Schools, Mr. Arthur R. Block, were heard many times this year. This is only one of the tremendous decisions that he makes. Mr. Block with his quiet manner and decisive hand extends his in- fluence to the acquiring of all faculty members and necessary equipment. Few people realize the skill it takes to run a school smoothly, but as Mr. Block can tell you, he does his very best. A I n,--, The meeting of the Board of Education will now come to order. This proclamation precedes many decisive meetings. The members of the board are fleft to rightj Mr. Herb Andrews, Mr. Bill Hartman, Mr. Lealand Ballou, Mr. Max Ireland, President, Mr. Don Shevel, Mrs. Florence Christensen, and Mrs. Olive Ross, Secretary. Mrs. Olive Ross fleftj, Secretary to the School Board, and Mrs. Ruth Forney, Mr. Block's secretary, are the two efficient ladies who take care of official school business. Mr. Richard Euchner, our high school principal, dili- gently meets all the needs of the student body. I-le seems to have a knack for dealing with his students and does so effectively. I in .
