HOME ECONOMICS In home economics classes girls are offered an opportunity to learn the skills of home man- agement and housekeeping. They learn how to cook a well-balanced meal and how to sew. The course also includes interior decorating and child care. Girls who take this course are well-prepared future homemakers. INDUSTRIAL ARTS Courses in machine shop, sheet metal, woodworking, printing, and mechanical draw- ing are offered by our industrial arts depart- ment. The shops are equipped with up-to-date tools and machines. The industrial arts pro- gram offers attractive opportunities for inter- ested boys who want to learn a trade. Mr. Renato Paolini and Mr. Walter Herrick of the industrial arts department. Donna Ford, Joyce Meuse, and Janet Fotino use the sewing machine in a home economics class.

Throughout the year, art work brightens the display cases in the school. On various occasions water colors, pastels, cut paper, ceramics, and silver work have been exhibited. Mrs. Eleanor Baker, supervisor of art. LIBRARY Miss Rudie Lindgren ' s display windows lure everyone into the library. Once in this attractive room, how can one resist browsing around? Then, before he realizes it, the student is checking out a book and embarking on his own reading-for- pleasure program.
