A great success B«b C «vroM The drawing card. Boh Clayton Recognize anybody? Remember me? The Yearbook Record Hop was held at the Stoneham Town Hall on December 29, 1953, with Bob Clayton as M. C. Popular singer. Bob Dini, and dancers from the Fred Astaire Studio were added attractions. The alumni, servicemen, and the whole high school turned out for an evening of enjoyment from eight to twelve. The entire proceeds from this dance helped to finance THE TORCH.

€V Co-captains George Pollock and Robert Mathewson Coach Robert Willett and Coach Chester Jordan Leading the Stoneham sextet this year were Co- captains Bob Mathewson and George Pollock. Dick Bemis was goalie; A1 Duff and Ralph Mit- chell, wings on the first line; Phil Corbett and Lee Vogler, formidable defensemen. Other mem- bers of the team were Freddie Loranee, Joe Conley, Chuck Wayman, Bill Fitzgerald, Joe Muse, Dick Tartarini, and Jay Tufts. All hockey games were played at the Boston Arena — six Saturday afternoon games and four Friday night sessions. The round robin playoffs started January 30 and continued through February 13. Coach Bob Millett, Assistant Coach Chet Jordan, and the students were proud of Stoneham High hockey team.
