YtUMxiqe, to the. (ZCali As the class of 1945 approaches its Commence- ment, my thoughts turn quite naturally to those of you whose education is interrupted by the war. Some of you are already in the service; others will soon follow. 1 sincerely hope that you will look upon the period of service as a noble and necessary one, but that you will never lose faith in your ultimate goal, and that you will steadfastly determine to re- turn to complete your training for participation in the glorious era which I believe lies ahead, when peace shall come to all the world. The continued in- terest and best wishes of your principal and your teachers will follow all of you as you go forth to fulfill your destiny in the world of men. WILLIAM M. NADEAU

Tribute is here paid to all our boys in the armed forces of our great country. They are fighting for the kind of victory which will bring hope to op- pressed peoples and restore dignity to mankind. Yesterday, these servicemen were our playmates; today, they are the guardians of our liberty. Yester- day. there were for them gridirons, courts, arenas, and baseball diamonds ; today, there are foxholes, cockpits, submarines, and destroyer decks. Yester- day, they had books and lessons; today, they apply their knowledge with resourcefulness. Today we salute them, for tomorrow they bring us peace with victory !
