Go For The Gold 1 14 lthough fashion and fun are im- portant parts of life at Stone Mountain, academics are the core of student activity. Students may feel that their extracurricular activities are more exciting, but their schoolwork is the basis for their future. The 1988 senior class rediscovered college brochures, as have many senior classes before them. There are also those familiar feelings of rushing to finish homework before the first bell rings, sitting in class vvondering if the bell will ever ring, and enjoying the moment when the last bell of the day rings. All in all, academics are a big part of everyday life at SMHS. Before school, during class, and instead of eating lunch students are seen dashing to complete undone homevvork.
