Dressed as raisins for their skit, the teachers dance to I Heard it Through the Grapevine. ,IPA he Homecoming Pep Rally was a special time for everyone to let their Pirate spirit show. It began with the introduction of the 1987 Homecoming Court. First, the Underclass members of the Court were escorted into the gymg they were followed by the five senior candidates for Homecoming Queen. Students weren't the only ones to let loose at the pep assembly. The teachers held the spotlight during their annual skit. They entered the gym dressed as raisins, dancing to the sound of l Heard it Through the Grapevine. They sang the song using their own lyrics, composed about Homecoming, in place of the original ones. Heather Rakestraw shows everyone Tanya Woods always enjoys herself at how spirited she is by cheering at the pep assemblies. pep rally. These students are entranced by the bonfire. he Homecoming parade this year showed everyone's support of their class. Each class presented afloat for the competition andthe winner, the senior class, was announced at the football game Saturday night. The parade started at Stone Mountain ll and wound through the town of Stone Mountain to conclude back at SMH Il. Miss SMH of 1987, the 1986 homecoming queen, andthe 1987 homecom- - ing court all participated in the parade, also. The Grand Marshall MA Goddard, was one of the leaders of the pa- rade. At the conclusion of the parade, everyone involved trooped over to SMH for the B-B-Q sponsored by the junior class. The students had their fill and then went down to the baseball field for the bonfire. As the student body rendered an enthusiastic version of the Alma Mater, school spirit was in full swing. The band Felony provided the entertainment for the evening, and when the night ended, everyone drifted home with a feeling of contentment, and pride was abound in every heart. The band performs awesomely in the parade. Senior representatives Paige Acker and Lisa Dotson ride in the parade. The Senior Class PYOUCHV di5PlaV5 their prize-winning float. 134
