MARCI-IING BAND This year's marching band was very active under the leadership of Director Melvin Hodges. Among many perfor- mances the band participated in was the DeKalb County Band Exhibition. They also performed in Daytona Beach and received 8 superiors, 3 ex- cellents, and 1 overall award. In the Rockdale Festival they also received several awards. Varsity Drill Team, sponsored by Ms. Fearing, received a rating of superior and performed for Georgia Tech's first game. They also went to a week-long camp at Georgia Tech. The majorettes, led by the expe- rience of Donna Sampler, also per- formed well with the band. The B- Team Drill Team, sponsored by Mrs. Glover, was judged as Excellent in competition.
