Basketball Shoot The Hoop sank?- Kneeling: Jan Ainsworth and Kelvin Sherman, Statlstlcians. Standing: Pete Georgian, Coach, Zela Johnson, Debbie Coker, Cookie Falrley, Susan Cooper, Sandra Parker, Anitha DeJarnett, Marilyn James, Brian Smith Manager and Clay Walden, Manager. When people think of basketball at Stone, they usually think of the boys' team. But, not only have the girls reached respectability, they have become a threat in the Gulf Coast Conference, as well. Under the leadership of Coach Georgian, they led a balanced attack and played a spirited game typical of a Stone team. The girls started the season off with a bang with an early win over Vancleave and by capturing the Brooklyn Tournament. Although they suffered a few disappointments along the way, the girls' team also conquered many opponents and finished their season with more wlns than losses.
