ANN UNCEME TS. .D VOTIONAL Occasionally when Mr. Jones is out, Mr. Baucum fills in with the morning announcements. During homeroom, jackie Danzey and Barry Cameron examine an IBM typewriter. . Shortly after the tardy bell rings for homeroom, the familiar voice of Mr. jones is heard over the intercom saying, Good morning, announcements please . ' ' After listing the day's activities and club meetings, one or more students give the devotional and then the intercom becomes silent. Teachers then send to the office for lunch tickets. Many mornings are spent nominating and voting for such things as class officers, homecoming maids, Who's Who, and student council representatives. Most of the time, though, you occupy yourself with talk about the previous day's events, or the homework r that you haven't had time to finish, or that test you were suddenly reminded of . During Mrs. Breland's homeroom, Vernon Mitchell, Ray Mast, and Steven Parrish wish they were home in bed. I2 Student Life !Homex-oom

LET'S TAKE A BREAK A long line of hungry students forms in front of snack machines within the first few minutes of break. As the bell ending second period rings, students gather along the breezeway and outside on the benches for morning break. Almost immediately, a seemingly endless line of hungry students forms in front of the drink and candy machines as they wait to silence the noisy protests that their empty stomachs began to make during second period. Others crowd around the office counter fighting to get lunch punches or milk tickets and still make it to that important club meeting before the bell rings. As soon as one has a chance to eat his snack, his best friend starts filling him in on that test he's having next periodg then the bell rings. Seated on the breezeway, George Redeemer break to catch up on the rmorning's events. 14 Student Life I Morning Break - f' I I fs! v 4 Lf' is ,,.. and janet McDonald use morning Y 2 MN ,..
