College Campus presented the musical The Sound of Music. ' ' Fifteen people from Stone County tried out for the parts of the Von Trapp Children but only seven were selected. Among those who were selected at Stone High were Freshmen, Keri Clement and Carol Rogers, and one Senior, Lynn Clement. These girls spent many late night hours over several weeks rehearsing and learning their parts. When asked what they enjoyed most about puting on the play they both agreed that the DO RE MI scene was the most fun in practice and the final performance . Oh a lot of kids like to ride skateboards but not all of them make their own. You see about two years ago jonathan started ordering parts from magazines and making skateboards. He says, It's easy, all you need are the wheels, a bearing, the mmk and a board. He sizes, cuts, and sands the boards in shop at school. Jonathan has learned to ride many different ways, like with feet up and hands on the board! He built a ramp in his back yard to practice on and hopes to enter some kind of riding contest soon. Of course he's had a few falls, but nevertheless, jonathan still enjoys the excitement only skateboarding brings. People I Freshmen 163
