She first started working with macrame in the seventh grade in her study hall period at South jones jr. High when she had nothing else to do but soon she began to enjoy it so much that she worked on it at home also . Harriett says that starting with the correct materials is the first step and after that its just hard work until you're finished. Her specialties are belts and necklaces but she also makes pot holders.
