Most people say that a bird is a bird, but not Steven Parrish. Steven is a senior this year and he enjoys a very fulfilling hobby. He raises birds and is also qualified to be a judge at bird shows. He obtained this interest from his father who also works with birds. Steven began raising birds in the 7th grade and since then has acquired as many as 150 birds. Steven raises mostly pigeons and has shovxm them at the Stone County Fair. He has won ten blue ribbons, one red ribbon and 540.00 and is planning to take his prize birds to other shows in the near future . Although working and training birds takes much time and patience, Steven says that he loves it and hopes that some day he will have even more time to work with ' 'his feathered friends.
