0ur Motto: They'll Fix It! Production on the 1976 Echo Started in September when annual staffers were put through a grueling two week course in making a yearbook. After that they quickly learned to hate words like one pica inner margin and headline. Possible the most hated word of all was caption. When a cap- tion had to be written, suddenly everyone was busy with some other job. Deadlines always seemed to pop up at exactly the wrong moments or so it seemed. Each time one came around, the pages due never were quite ready. Each deadline day was met with the agony of finishing lay- outs and typing copy. Screams and groans were not uncommon noises as the rush of meeting the 4:30 mail went on in despa- ration. Despite lost pictures, missed deadlines, and a shortage of copysheets, the Echo was sent on its way. When the job was done the staff could only breathe a sigh of relief and make 23 reservations at the insane asylum. A ....
