Fashions and Fads Fashion, as ever, was an important part of the school year. No one could predict what stu- dents would wear from day to day. Girls walked down the halls in knee length dresses or stood on the breezeway in blue jeans and jerseys. Boys appeared in jeans and overalls or in dressy pants with brightly printed shirts. Feet were clad in platform shoes, ten- nis shoes, or earth shoes and socks with crazy designs. Candy and gum couldn't be had for less than 15C and Uncle Sam deman- ded 13C for every letter he sent on its way. lVlusic did its best to keep things calm. Elton John and Barry Manilow were two very popular performers with a string of hits in 1975 and Neil Seda- ka's Love Will Keep Us To- gether done by the Captain and Tenille became the number one song in the nation.
