SPORTS Hello Sport Fans' You mention school starting, that means basketball in the minds of the students and the startingof a new season at South Solon Although our teams haven't captured any high honors or been out standing as far as winning the games are concerned These fellows have displayed fine sportsmanship and put their whole hearts and souls in playing with the best of skill With only fourteen boys from which to pick two teams, you couldn't expect much Looking over the lineups, you see a grand bunch of fellows who had been loyal by giving their time and energy What they gain, if nothi their losses standing up The Wildcats played a total of seventeen games and won seven of them It must be said that several of the games were close and could have been won by either team We entered the Madison County Tournament at the close of the season in sixth place We lost our first game with Plain City and was eliminated by Monroe from this year's tournament Now that basketball season is over, the South Solon Wildcats must bid farewell to two of their boys Leon Reed and John Lytle I know other boys will step in and live up to the tradition of South Solon just like these boys did All in all I would say that the Solon fans should be very proud of the boys Coach Pickens sends on the floor to wear the red and white of South Solon Fight on Wildcats' CHEERLEADERS Left to Right: Pat Owens, Connie I-Iyer, Juanita Williams, R9-FHOYIH SimmeI'U10l'1 I8 V!
