The beginning--our club, pre- sented to the high school this year, actually started in Poetry class last spring. Over the sum- mer, we strove to keep our town clean by collecting the towns- people's glass. This process was continued through the winter. We also had two ditch pick-ups to make our country a little nicer to live in. We hope to see this club continue in the coming years and become stronger with the coming of each new class. Remember--KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL! The officers--Pat Leitzen and Deb Wampfler, Co-chairmen; Mike Brunner, Publicity Chairman and Ron Hill, Secretary-treasurer. Co-sponsors--Mr. Bretl and Mrs. Thomas. Members of Library Club are always very busy keeping our Middle and High School libraries running smoothly. They check out books, return them to the shelves, keep the shelves in order, and repair worn-out volumes. Once a week a bulletin board is put up to enhance the beauty of the library and to enlighten the students of SHS on different aspects of school life. The club also sells paperbacks to finance a trip at the end of the year. Mrs. Werkheiser, advisor, is always willing to teach the girls new things about the library world. The officers pictured above are Jewel Spencer, treasurer; Connie Brunner, vice-president; Elaine Hayes, president; and Jeanne Buske, secretary. 19
