We think it’s called oregano. We are sure his very spe- cial talents will benefit our school. We are also sure that someday the paper will learn how to spell Mazzelli . . . Marconi .... Marsella . . . Marsala .... Let’s leave it at Mike 11 Halloween 19S5 Zrick Or Zreat Gremlins, Ghosts and Ghoulies invaded Pine Plains again this year. The town was treated to a parade of great costumes while one Senior was more concerned with TRICKS than TREATS as is obvious from the photo at the left. i3 Ag 'Day HIGH 5CH0AL one mm, 85? wo s)° flo oSJT uw(li£R fOKSOC T CN . n t.s ( fetisnmr - WW 1 ©FTOItJk CONbocamo Bt 16 I W ’( ! The scoreboards did not show it but the Pine Plains fans would say that the team actually won several of thiir games. The scores of this season’s games were usually very close and they did beat both Millbrook at our Homecoming game and Housatonic. We saw some very good players this year. Dennis Duncan, who will be lost to graduation this year, had a great second season as he received the Headhunter Award with 106 tackles. Another graduating player, Patrick McLoughlin, was voted the Bombers Best Back or End. Steven Liberta and Tim Launhardt, who are both sophomores and first year varsity players, were awarded Best Lineman and Most Improved Player respectively. Players who made All-League were McLoughlin and Kevin Wirhouski. Honorable mention went to Duncan, Liberta, and Tom O’Neill. Zemis Back Row; Coach Jorgensen, C. Walsh, C. Cahill, B. Johnsen, D. This change was probably due to the gained experience of the eleven returning varsity players. Their record, for this year, was 5 and 9. The varsity played their best game at Dover, with Stacy Grow ex- celling in her services. The varsity team played well against Hal- dane, their toughest opponent. They defeated them in one of the match's 3 games. This year, the varsity team will lose two of its valuable star- ters, Valerie Kemnitzer and Barbara Boucher. Barbara was chosen for the all-league team. The team went to sectionals against Edgemont, where they were seated eleventh. They played well but were defeated in a tough game. As they continued to work and improve, they were able to move from playing in a simple form- ation to the more complex W formation, used by the varsity team. The jayvee team played their best against Webutuck. In the upcom- ing season most of the sophmores will be moved up to play on the varsity team. The J.V. record ended up 6 and 7 this year. Not Bad!!! Fieldhockey Team lost two of their starting players at the beginning of the season, due to injury. This was a great loss, but they pulled it through anyway with a lot of hard work and determination. They had a 6-5-1 record. They also went through a change of coaches. Mr. Meilinger was coaching both the J.V. and Varsity at the begin- ning of the season. Then around the middle of the season Margret Bushmann was choen to be the J.V. coach. The Blue Wave did exceptionally well this year, making it to the Section I Class C Championship. In the final game, Pine Plains lost a tough batle to defending state champs, Rye Neck. Despite an intense effort by Pine Plains offense and defense, eleven minutes into the second half, Rye Neck scored the sole goal of the game. This dashed Pine Plains hopes of advancing to the State Finals. Another outstanding game played by the Blue Wave was against 1984 1985 State Runnerups, Germantown. The game was rained out in the second half with both teams scoreless. Never forget all the great times with the cars: Ryan, you better slow down; Tom, you better go faster; and Lester, stop throwing food! The hardest thing about leaving for the NAVY is leaving my friends behind. I wish the great times that we have shared could go on forever, but that’s not possible. Never forget” D.D.”, M.
