Text from Pages 1 - 144 of the 1975 volume:

“The Way We Were” Memories light the corners of my mind. Misty water color memories. Of the way we were. Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind. Smiles we gave to one another For the way we were. Can it be that it was all so simple then. Or has time rewritten every line? If we had the chance to do it all again. Tell me. would we? Could we? Memories may be beautiful, and yet. What's too painful to remember. We simply choose to forget. So it's the laughter we will remember. Whenever we remember the way we were. The way we were. Lyrics: Alan and Marilyn Bergman Stillwater Central School Stillwater, New York The 1975 WARRIOR Presented by The Class of 1975 Foreword We have been told that these are the best years of our lives. Perhaps. If they are, the best years of our lives the years of carefree days, friendships, discoveries, and growth — have also been clouded by our awareness of political turmoil and economic instability. We have often hidden in the carefree dreams and joys of youth as one seeks the relief of summer after a long winter and even now cling to the peaceful and joyous memories of school days, but we are not now, nor never were, unaware of the challenges posed by the world surrounding us. We look to our memories, our pasts, with feelings of nostalgia and even regret for their passing, but we anticipate the future with optimisim and hope that our years at Stillwater Central School have prepared us for the challenges that lie ahead. 2 We Will Remember schedules piles of books lunches at Connor’s class rings homeroom elementary plays the first date forgetting combinations crowded halls terrified seventh graders yearbooks exchanging rings kindergarten naps stolen kisses daily announcements visits to the office cramming for tests dissecting Mrs. Martin’s evil eye murder ball Mrs. Sheehy’s punishments supplemental reports snow days new friends shots N.E.D.T. Rugged fullback Boucher work-horsed his way to the one yard line and then kicked out around right end to score the T.D. with Greg Daigle throwing the key block. The extra point play, which failed, was called back as a result of an interference penalty but again Hoosick Falls stiffened and stopped what proved to be an extremely important extra point attempt. The third period ended with the Warriors leading 14-8. The Hoosiers. unable to sustain any offensive drive throughout most of the contest, finally got it going with about seven minutes left in the contest. Carknard engineered a drive which started on his own 20 yard line. The Warrior secondary, led by Ray Callahan, Greg Daigle and Bochette made three consecutive key defensive plays before the big completion to Greenwood at the two. With nine seconds left, Wyman made his heroic touchdown from three yards out. The Warrior defense held on the extra point attempt to salvage a tie and remain very much in contention in the tight Southern Division.
