Now that I was in my old home state, I decided to stay a few days. In Oklahoma City, I learned that an old classmate of mine, Irl Trout, who finished school in the year 1920, class of S. H. S. was now governor of Oklahoma. A few days later I went to Kansas City. While there I met Miss Sylvia Moore, from Central College, Lexington, Mo. After some few minutes conservation she told me that her father was Mr. C. Denton Moore, formerly of S. H. S., and that her mother, Mrs. Moore was formerly Miss Sylvia Burton of S. H. S., 1920 class. Miss Moore was to meet her parents in Kansas City that afternoon, so I stayed to see them also. We all spent a few days in the city together, which was very enjoyable. My next stop was in Florida, where I sold my ship and decided to take a boat to New York. When I got on board I found that my old friend Fred Prentice, was captain. I enjoyed this trip very much, talking over old school days. He told me that only a few days before, he had been to the theater in New York City, where our old friend and classmate, Edwin Stalcup was performing, and was one of the greatest violinists of the times. - This trip was enjoyed very much because on it I had met every one of my old schoolmates of my graduating class of 1920 in S.
