Toward New Horizons Stewartville High School has been proud of Diane Hanson this year. As National Vice President of the Central Region of the Future Homemakers of America, she has provided the organization with outstanding leadership. During her year of office she has attended the 1971 National Meeting in Kansas City, Mo., 2 executive council meetings in Washington D. C. , the American Vocational Association Meeting in Portland, Oregon, the FHA Leader- ship Seminar in Chicago, Illinois, the Iowa State FHA Meeting in Des Moines, the Minnesota State FHA Meeting in Minneapolis, the 1972 National Meeting in Los Angeles, California, and numerous chapter meeting in south- eastern Minnesota. Besides attending meetings for FHA, she also lobbied for education bills with Representative Quie and Senator Humphrey, attended a tea at the White House with Mrs. Agnew, and went to the dedication concert at the New Kennedy Center in Washington. As a national officer, she formulated her Trip Out--Try Education slide presentation on the various educational opportunities available beyond high school. This proved to be very worthwhile and most educational. Diane has given much to the Future Homemakers of America during her high school career. Besides serving as National Vice-president, she has held the offices of chapter vice-president, chapter president, District 6 President and state vice-president. Diane has shown the true ideals of the organization as she lives up to the motto-continually working and striving Toward New Horizons. 79 First Row: M. Bussell, L. Lecy, M. Flynn, G. Bredesen, V.
