A long-awaited day arrived on January 5, 1970. After Christmas vacation, we were able to occupy a part of the New Junior-Senior High Addition, which greatly relieved the congestion and en- abled our seventh graders to stay in our own building all day instead of spending .1 half day in St. Bernard's Education Building. The special education class, sixth grade section, and Vocational Counselor Office were also moved to the High School Building. Three new science rooms were opened, giving more adequate room for general science, biology, and chemistry-phy- sics. Two spacious art rooms were put to use for the first time. Two new bus- iness education rooms were opened for us, and one business education room was occupied by a sixth grade. The auto mechanics and metal-working shop and wood-working shop, with ad- jacent classroom, result in more room and more adequate equipment than we have had before. Many additional lock- ere have been added so pupils no longer need to share. New central offices were completed several weeks later, which resulted in more office space for high school prin- cipals and counselors. Additional music rooms became avail- able by mid-February. A large choral room, a general music classroom, and four practice rooms enable us to carry on a much better music program. Also opened at this time were two additional shop rooms for electricity and mechan- ical drawing. With continued progress, we expect the library, audio-visual area and the new lunchroom and kitchen will be com- pleted for use by the end of March. We are all very well pleased with the fine modem facilities and the benefits we all derive from them.
