The slogan, The Tiger's Shine in '59,” couldn't be taken too literally on the night of homecoming, as a steady drizzle turned the field into a sea of mud. However, this was not enough to daunt our team as they took the measure of St. Charles 20-0. At the dance following the game a few of the more rabid fans had some pretty limp curls; but, this didn't dampen any spirits, as everyone was in the same predicament. The senior class of 1960 won the float competition for the third year in a row. The parade was a rather soggy affair as it rained during this homecoming event also. The second place float pictured here was sponsored by the Girls' Friendship Club. The inscription reads OUR GUARDERS K HAVE SNAP. 3

VALENTINE DANCE The annual Valentine Party of SHS was held on February 6 with a court composed of juniors selected by the student body. Those selected to represent the junior class were Betty Brekke, Phyllis Eppard, Sally Knapp, Sandy Light, and Nancy Reich for the girls and Dennis Haack. Dennis Hayden. Lavern King, David Mullen- bach, and DuWayne Witter for the boys. Philip Henke and Connie Carlson served as attendants. The coronation arrived with 1959 Valentine Royalty Loren Thompson and Geraldine Long crowning Dennis Hayden and Sandy Light Valentine King and Queen of 1960. 5
