IILHSS PHUPHEIIU I have always wanted to take a trip to the West Coast and this year I deold ed to do so On the way I decided I'd stop to see some of my classmates As I left Grand Central Station and eat down to enjoy my ride, I noticed a nice looking lady with a little boy I recognized her at once as being my old classmate, Grace Baker, and the little boy was her student She was going t California to give a lecture on her famous method of teaching children We began talking about school days, the fun we had had and the whereabouts of some of our classmates 'Of course,' she said, 'you know Jean Sheard ls a pharmacist and owns a chain of drug stores ' I knew this as it had been in the paper A tall, good looking conductor came through and called the next station, and who should it be but Harold Pats? He told us he was married and lived in Chicago When I got off the train in Columbus to go to my hotel, I told Grace good bye and walked down the street I thought I would go into the famous Lazarus store to see about getting a gift for my sister, and as I walked ln, a handsome man met me and welcomed me to the store Who should it be but Melvin Wing, now the manager of the store? He asked me to sit down and see the shiek style show to be presented soon The model wore an exquisite evening gown with a mink coat ing room after the show and told me she wanted me to see someone I might know It was her secretary, and to my surprise it was none other than Faye Bufler, who had been abroad seven times since graduation I asked Faye and Lois what had become of Delores Browning They told me she had become the leading steno grapher at Ford's plant ln Detroit with eighteen stenographlc assistants After I left the store, I decided to go to the theatre and see a light comedy The stars were Donald Lang and Betty Gatliff in 'Life Is A Notebook' I went back stage, and they told me that they had been to all the forty eight states with this show and that it was scheduled to hit Broadway within three months When I arrived at a hotel, I found that all the rooms had been taken, but as luck would have lt, the manager of the hotel was none other than dashing Donald McIntosh who said that he would be glad to let me stay at his home H e home was beautiful It was an eleven room house with three baths His wife was very charming and his five daughters were the image of Donnie While I was there, they had a bit of trouble with a water pipe it broke and they had to call 9110 HB1-701' Plumbing c0mp8.!'ly The men were all out and said they would send some . o thrown over the shoulder.
