HOMECOMING On November 27, 1958, the Stewardson-Strasburg Comets were defeated by the Windsor Blue Devils by a score of 76-64. The Windsor ballplayers, cheerleaders, coaches and administration were invited for a luncheon fol- lowing the game. ' The highlight of the Annual affair was the crowning of the Homecoming Queen. The background for the throne of Her Majesty was a green frame with a white heart in the center. This was placed on the gym floor. The attendants approached the throne from the side doors of the gym. Master of Ceremonies, Doug Lueck, introduced the attendants and their escorts to the audience in the following order: Howard Koontz and Bill Swank ushered the attendants to the throne. The Freshman attendants were Lady Carol Bales and Escort Tom Lowry and Lady Janet Baurngarten and escort'J. C. Kessler. Carol wore a pink ruffled formal and Janet wore an ice blue formal. The next attendants to appear were the Slophomores. Lady Carole Wallace and Escort Bill Giesler and Lady Donna Spannagel and Escort Larry Shumard. Carole's formal was of pink lace and Donna's a light green with tiny white ruffles. The Junior attendants were Lady Darlene Beitz and Escort Jim Giesler and Lady Joyce Reynolds and Escort Jerry Lugar. Darlene's formal was blue net ruffles and J oyce's blue eylet lace. The Senior attendants were Lady Kay Davis and her Escort George Williams and Lady Janet Syfert and her Escort Bob Keller. Kay's formal was lavender white embroidery on net and J anet's, orchid net ruffles over taffeta. ' Miss Kay Lading and Master Bradley Friese were the next to appear as the crownbearers. Approaching the throne was Her Majesty, Miss Kathryn Schmitt escorted by Arlyn Culver. Miss Beverly Underwood, the retiring Queen, approached the throne and crowned Miss Schmitt the 1958 Homecoming Queen and presented her with a bouquet of red roses. Mr. Ronnie Hash served as Beverly's Escort. Each attendant received a three red rose corsage and each escort received a white carnation boutonniere . A public dance followed the coronation.

CARNIVAL Jim Giesler Ronnie Hash LEFT TO RIGHT: Linda Anderson, Wanda Webner, Janet Friese, Lisa Falk, Queen, Carol Lowryg King, Ronnie J ohnsong Dwayne Lueck, Douglas Lueck, Dwight Steineman, Frank Rincker. The Annual Fall Carnival sponsored by the Lettermen's Club was held on November 7, 1958. Con- cessions were available during the evening. Highlighting the entertainment of the evening was a trampo- line exhibition by four senior girls. Also, a Burlesque Show by members of the Lettermen's Club. The Chorus sang two numbers-and a short skit ended the entertainment. Ronnie Hash served as Master of Cere- monies. ' The crowning of the King and Queen was the highlight of the evening. Candidates for this occasion were elected by each class. ' ' Soft music was heard in the background as the candidates took their places beside the throne. Miss Linda Anderson and Mr. Frank Rincker, the Sophomore candidates, were the first to appear. Miss Wanda Webner and Mr. Dwight Steineman, the Senior candidates, were next to make an appear- ance. - , They were followed by the Junior candidates, Miss Janet Friese and Mr. Douglas Lueck, The crown bearers, Miss Lisa Falk and Master Dwayne Lueck, were next to advance to the throne. The big moment had arrived. The Freshmen candidates, Miss Carol Lowry and Mr. Ronnie Johnson were approaching the throne to be crowned King and Queen of the 1958-59 Stewardson-Strasburg Carnival by Jim Giesler and Ronnie Hash. The King and Queen each received a gift from the Lettermen's Club. Each Queen candidate was presented with a corsage of white carnations and each King candidate re- ceived a boutonniere.
