JUNIOR AND SENIOR BANQUET l957-58 Rendezvous Under the Stars was the theme chosen by the Junior Class. The gymnasium was decorated with pastel blue and silver streamers forming false walls. A star-studded sky over the dance floor consisted of various sized gold and silver Stars intermingled with blue light bulbs. A large yellow moon hovered over the band, seated at the side of the dance floor. Opposite the band stood a large wishing well. The roof was covered with blue angel hair sprinkled with gold stars. Decorated card tables were scattered on the outskirts of the floor. Streamers divided the dance floor from the banquet area. Iris and spirea decorated the tablesg all other table decorations were in accordance with the evening's theme. As the guests entered through a corridor of streamers, Reta Jean Michaels and Sandra Thomas, Junior ushers, greeted them and invited them to enjoy punch and hors d'oeuvres from the wishing well. The banquet began at six-thirty o'c1ock. Jokes were presented by ,T im Giesler, Wizard of the Stars, the Junior toastmaster. A toast, Starstudded Welcome was presented by the Junior Class president, Ruth Spannagel. The Senior response of thanks, Moonlight Response, was offered by the class president, Jim Bales. The Prophecy of the Stars was read by Sandra Ruwe and the Will of the Passing Comets was read by Imogene Reel. Thus climaxed the beautiful evening under the stars.
