ff6666G6 -Q '4Q .I .I A ' HISTORY OF CLASS OF 1938 ' - lContinuedJ Strasburg High School for our last year. We lost two mem- bers of our class, they were Irvin Thomas and Kenneth Volkman. Instead of having Mr. Dehauranti as our princi- pal we had Mr. Hewitt. Mr. Eckrfeld took Mr. Griffith's place. Miss Anderman was also a new tewcher and Miss Weber was still with us. Dolores Gaddis and Lavone Staehli have served on the Student Coun-cil. This year a basketball team was started and the following had he op- potrunity to play: Lowell Green, eaptaing Kenneth Wil- son, Guin Renshaw, Alfred Bing-aman. This same group of boys played softball with the exception of Guin Renshaw and the addition -of Floyd Kull. The following girls played softball: Lillian Wirth, captain, Ava Jean Griffith and Faye Eileen Welbner. All the girls took part in the Dramatic Club. A Photography Club was organized fby Mr. Eckfeld and the following were members: Lillian Wirth, secretary, Low- ell Green, Kenneth Wilson and Alfred Bingaman. We gave our cl-ass play April 8 and 9 at Storm's Hall. The name of the play was Speeding Along . Alfred Bing-aman was news re- porter of our class and Fern Reel news Editor. Lillian Wirth, Lowell Green and Ken- neth Wilson were ushers atthe Junior :class play. We h-ad our pictures taken at Camera Art Studio, Decatur but we hope we didn't break the camera, The beginning of November we received our class rings and went around shinning them in everyone's faces. Toward the l.ast of this month we received your name cards I and were bothered with Give me One . We sent for our invitations in the middle of April. This year we were guests of the Juniors at the annual J unior-Senior banquet held at U. S. Grant Hotel, Matto-on. We were also their guests at the theatre later in the evening.

Helen Doeding-The right to smile-once in a while. Ona Rankin-The right to spark in front of the school building. Harlan Renshaw-The right to take special training in che-er leading. Ruth Reel--The r i g h t to watch Mr. Eckfeld, the magi- .c'ia'n. Marjorie Engel-The right to go with 'a boy more than once. Lila Ruwe-The right to go with a wi-dower at Stewardson. Lucille Bingaman-The right to wink at Jimmy York. Eva Reel-The r i g h t to breath out loud. Marie Collins-Shorted dres- ses-if possible. Louisa Williams-A longer tongue so she scan stick it out farther at the Senor boys. Retha Doeding-A bottle of peroxide to bleach her hair. Lee Roy Storm-The right to buy cheaper coffee than Mary Todd so he can buy more -candy. James Williams-A larger book to hide behind in biology class. Junior Racine-A naturali- zation paper so he won't have to iight for J apan. Jimmie York-A dress S0 he won't deceive his ways. Ruth Martin-The right to have a boy's wardrobe. Wanda Mae Y0ung- T h e right to go with Dizzy Kircher. Junior Bridges-A brighter gre-en shirt. Allan Dale Rankin-A pro- peller on his nose so he can use his ears to fly. Freddie Biesecker-A mag'- net to draw his brains together. Kenneth Rincker-A motor- stretcher. Harold Bullerman-S0meth- ing to talk about besides mink, muskrats, and Marjorie, Harold Nipp4?S0me plates for his shoes sol you can hear him jig. Donald Bridges-The right to fiirt with all the grade school girls. Jeanette Kircher-The right to be secretary in the Biehler Hatchery. 'Floyd Kull wills his ability to keep away from girls to Freddie Bieseoker. Tud Wilson wills his leather necktie to Ears Rankin. Evelyn Ruth Wills her small waist line to Hazel Bingaman.
