The Future Farmers ot America is the national organization ot, by and tor farm boys studying vocational agriculture in public secondary schools, which operates under the provisions ot the National Vocational Education Acts. High school departments of vocational agriculture provide tour year courses of systematic instruction in agriculture and farm mechanics taught by teachers who are agriculture college graduates employed on a twelve month basis. The major purposes ot the Future Farmers ot America are to develop agri- culture leadership, cooperation, citizenship, improved agriculture and patriot- ism. There are tour degrees of active membership, Green Hand, Chapter Farmer, State Farmer and American Farmer. Advancement through these grades ot membership is based on achievement in vocational agriculture and progressive establishment in tarrning. Stevensvilles three man judging team, composed ot Tom Howard, Dave Whitsett and Lee Schrock, took second in the state meet at Bozeman last spring. We are sending teams to district meets and state meets with high hopes of placing. Our otticers for the year are Dave Whitsett, president, Wayne Dayton, first vice president, LaVerne Osburn, second vice presidentg Bill Rehberg, secretaryy Norman Iohnson, treasurer, Lee Schrock, reporter, and Ralph Gill, advisor. 1277

The Future Homemakers of America are composed of girls who have been enrolled in a home economics class. The club motto is Toward New Horizons Our outstanding activities of the year are a candlelight initiation of new mem bers, attendance at the district meeting in Missoula, Co-Ed Prom and sending delegates to the state F. H. A. convention at Helena. CREED We are the Future Homemakers of America. We face the future with warm courage, And high hope, For we have the clear consciousness of Seeking old and precious values. For we are the builders of homes, Homes for America's future, Homes where living will be the expression Of everything that is good and fair, Homes where truth and love and security And faith will be realities, not dreams. Peery, S. Mitchell, M. Felde, L. Staat, C. Kelly. There are 34 girls taking chorus this year. We sang a group of Christmas carols at a school gathering and at a P.-T.A. meeting in December. A group of chorus girls, composed of the Triple Trio, another trio, and a soloist, are planning to go to the state solo and ensemble music festival in Missoula in April. We will also participate in the program at the Senior play and at the commencement exercises at the closing ot the school term.
