CUSS PROHitST Today, May 16, 1956, is the tenth anniversary of the graduation of the class of 1966 On this day the fourteen former members of the class are meeting for an evening dinner in the Starlight Room of the Waldorf-Astoria. Same style, huh? The dinner is nearly ready to be served, and a few of us privileged persons who were invited to the party have arrived a little early and are waiting for the gang to arrive. One member of the class is already here—Shirley Rockau, who is assembling her famous Waldorf Starlight orchestra on the stage. Someone is coming in now, it's Melvin (Humpty) Berndt. In I9I46 Humpty wu8 pondering over the crucial question, “What shall I do after 1 graduate? He's still pondering. Entering the Starlight Room now is Gerald Totske. Gerald now owns a large ultra-modern farm which is operated, of course, completely by John Deere equipment. Coming in right behind Gerald are Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schaefer, who now have a nice little farm home a few miles from the metropolitan city of Stevensville. Mrs. Schaefer is our former class member, Clarene Davis. Now here is our old friend, Ann Vergot, who, shortly after we graduated, became Mrs. Douglas Peace. Douglas is with her, of course. We see Marion Mielke entering now. Marion spent two years at a nurses' training, school, and she is now an R.N. at Mayo Brothers' Clinic. Well, here's someone we haven’t seen for a long time, although we've heard her oftenj it's Jean Sounart, who is a famous member of the Metropolitan Opera. Her off-stage name is Mrs. Gino DaDan, and her hubby is with her now, of course. Gino, also a former class mem- ber has taken over his father's Chevrolet agency. Here are Mr. and Mrs. Walter ftiiilips entering the Starlight Rpom now. The Riillipses have been happily married for nearly nine years. In 19146 we knew Mrs. Hiillips as Janet DeMorrow. Miss Barbara Kirchner has just arrived. Barbara has finally gi- ven up all her other school-teacher boy friends, and now Lee Worster, who is with her, is her one and only. While we were talking to Barbara and Lee, the Lewis Sorgots arrived, at the time we graduated Mrs. Sorget was Miss Joyce Kuts. Norma Radae and her husband, Weldon Burden, are coming in now9 and with then is Don Barts, who today is the owner of a swell ranch in Texas. He has invited us all to come and visit him some time and we surely intend to take him up on itl Nearly everyone is here now and the party is about to begin, but there is one person yet to arrive. The Starlight orchestra is starting to play the Missouri Walts, and everyone is getting up to dance. Ah!, here comes the last person now—Bill Siewert, late as usual, but we knew he'd make it in time for the first dance. Well, they're all here now, except the little ones, who arebeing well taken care of in the hotel nursery. Dinner is being served and I think we'd better leave you here and let the Forty-sixers tell you the rest when they get back home. Knowing them as we do, we're sure they'll have seme swell stories to.telll • Janet DeMorrow, Class of 'I46
