Two of the big reasons for the teams success is the excellent teamwork and a great coaching job by John Saum who over the years has compiled a fantastic 83-16 won-lost record. When awards were given out Jim Hunter received most improved player and Todd Elliot got the most valuable player. The team's co-captains were Brian Harris and Dave Miller. EIGHTH GRADE CHEERLEADERS, FRONT: Debbie Rein. STANDING, 1 to r: Beth Forge, Tina Cattell, April Plaugher, Cathi Strine, Joyce Rogers. TOP: Tricia Madson. BACK: Mary Calme. Cheerleading sounds easy, but if you haven't ever tried out you don't know how hard it really is. The 7th and 8th grade Cheerleaders worked hard to get their routines ready for the games. If they miss a practice, they don't cheer the next game. So you see, their practices are very important. Their sponsor is Miss Pietrzak. The 8th grade Cheerleaders went to camp last summer and won one ribbon, lst place. We all owe the cheerleaders and their sponsor a lot of praise. SEVENTH GRADE CHEERLEADERS, FRONT: Debbie Salfi. KNEELING: Tina Skelton, Denise Walfe. SLANTING: Julie Stepanski, Pat Calme, Dettie Walles. TOP: Tracy Schell. 43
