X - because of weather f ..! :Z 1' ' Q '-, Late snowfalls spoiled the tearn's chance- for an early spring training, but when the Win- ter weather subsided, baseball practice finally got underway. Inter-squad drills began in the gym in mid- March under the instruction of Coach Gerald Eichrnan, and final cuts were made toward the end of the month. The first game was scheduled for April 27 against Walled Lake Western. Because all the football and basketball teams had excellent records, the baseball players had an obligation to keep up the good standards and they Worked hard and fast to make up for lost time. .S Ninth Grade Baseball Team. 0 H A Performance, vlctory, track team's main goal Hard work and pure determination Was the key to keep the ninth grade track team on their toes. Even though each member knew that getting in shape would be difficult and frustrating, everybody hung in there and the effort was well rewarded. Coach Don Castle and his team were delayed somewhat in their training due to the unex- pected late snowfalls, but though it may have slowed their start, that didn't stop them in the least.
