X - because of weather f ..! :Z 1' ' Q '-, Late snowfalls spoiled the tearn's chance- for an early spring training, but when the Win- ter weather subsided, baseball practice finally got underway. Inter-squad drills began in the gym in mid- March under the instruction of Coach Gerald Eichrnan, and final cuts were made toward the end of the month. The first game was scheduled for April 27 against Walled Lake Western. Because all the football and basketball teams had excellent records, the baseball players had an obligation to keep up the good standards and they Worked hard and fast to make up for lost time. .S Ninth Grade Baseball Team. Desire to learn and put iarth their best efforts was the eighth grade tean1's goal. Their positive attitude proved successful throughout the sea- son. The most glorio .s victory was the final game, with Bloomfield Hills, whom they topped by 22 rip-roaring points. They sure showed great team spirit, Coach Michael Miley claimed in praise ot the squad. The seventh grade team showed excellent improvement during the season, boasted Coach lohn Saum. Due to their great enthusi- asm and team work, they came through with a trouncing defeat of East Hills by 30 points. Added to this top-notch display ot team ettort and will to win is the tact that these cagers will return to play again next year. The View ahead promises to he as good as the back- ward glance.
