Bill Maki, parliamentarian, explains a point ol parlia- mentary procedure to otticers Sue Sebring, president, Gail Shelly, corresponding secretary, Greg Miller, treas- urerg Cindy Pauly, recording secretary, and Sue Carie, vice-president. 100' student council Striking' a timely blow for Women's Lib, Sue Sebring was Mason's first qirl Student Council president. Sue and the other 1970-71 officers stepped into their jobs with excellent advanced training behind them. They attended a student leadership camp during the summer, and also Went to the University of Michigan Where they participated in a Iunior Hiqh Student Council Clinic. The council developed the idea of honoring Students of the Month. They organized cr com- mittee who chose one boy and one girl each month, based on recommendations from teach- ers. Those selected were given recognition through PA announcements and a picture dis- play in the main lobby. The activity sign project was completed by this yea:r's council who supervised its construc- tion in front of the school. They also raised the money for their newest project: football bleachers. 1
