BCISiCCf11Y this program gives young students the opportunity to see the business world as it really is, claimed Mrs. Shirley Castelli, student aide adviser. Some of the activities the clerical trainees performed were typing, filing, answer- inq phones, and operating the duplicating ma- chines. One of the variations of this system was the rotation of assignments so that each person gained a wider knowledge of skills. As a spe- cial feature, some students also worked at Grayson Elementary School. Many students took advantage of the library by using its facilities more often. Artwork bright- ened the area, along with efficient library aides. In training, they learned to help students by checking books in and out, showing them how to use the resources, and performing such housekeeping chores as dusting a.nd straight- ening shelves to keep order. Experience built their skills, improving the work they did with enthusiasm. In addition to abundant reference materials, the Library Aides, Student Aides Aides try world of work Photo copies are a popular means of illustrating resource center also has new and interesting fiction student reports. Hooks, rockets stir ll'1teFSSt Colorado or bust! This was the motto for 22 earth science students Who, under the leader- ship of Mr. David Heiple, spent a good part of the year making preparations for a geologic journey to Boulder, Colorado. Working out in the gym and participating in overnight camp- outs to keep fit were all a part of the schedule. The creative group sponsored activities to pay for the expedition. Besides a dance, car washes, a Swiss steak dinner, and a Tag Day proved profitable. For another group of student scientists, ex- citement mounted as their rocket gained alti- tude. Higher and higher it went, its size diminish- ing by every second in the eyes of the viewer. This was a project of Rocket Club members who designed, constructed, and launched real Work- ing models. 42 . . ' 'ix-1-?,,4'g1g 15v1 .,
