Some of the activities the clerical trainees performed were typing, filing, answer- inq phones, and operating the duplicating ma- chines. Artwork bright- ened the area, along with efficient library aides. In training, they learned to help students by checking books in and out, showing them how to use the resources, and performing such housekeeping chores as dusting a.nd straight- ening shelves to keep order.
