Some of the activities the clerical trainees performed were typing, filing, answer- inq phones, and operating the duplicating ma- chines. One of the variations of this system was the rotation of assignments so that each person gained a wider knowledge of skills. As a spe- cial feature, some students also worked at Grayson Elementary School. Many students took advantage of the library by using its facilities more often. Artwork bright- ened the area, along with efficient library aides. In training, they learned to help students by checking books in and out, showing them how to use the resources, and performing such housekeeping chores as dusting a.nd straight- ening shelves to keep order.
